Intense eye make-up is reserved mostly for nights, but there is one simple version that you can easily use during the day. We present you daytime smoky eyes – step by step.
1. EYE SHADOW BASE – PREPARE YOUR SKIN
If you have eye shadow base, apply it on eyelids and wait few minutes. Base needs to absorb and blend with your skin. It will guarantee that your make-up will be truly long lasting.
2. CONCEALER – PROVIDE EVEN SKIN COMPLEXION
It is best to apply it with the fingertips by gently tapping it in the skin around the eyes. Make sure there are no unaesthetic smudges or lines you left behind. Concealer needs to blend with your skin complexion.
3. IT IS TIME FOR EYE SHADOW
With brush or a fingertip apply on the entire eyelid some eyeshadow in neutral colour. You probably have one lying somewhere around. It can have any colour you like: ivory, beige, vanilla… Remember, not to rub it, but just gently tap it in.
4. BLACK LINE
Eye pencil you use has to be soft and easy to rub. If you want to you can use liner with gel consistency. Remember, not to make your line of one thickness. Closer to the inner eye corner must be thinner and it should get thicker towards outer eye corner. Do not forget to apply line also on the lower eyelid.
5. RUBBING AND TINGING
With a cotton bud gently rub the edges of lines. Now apply eye shadow around the smudged line. Do your best to apply it above the black line. It is a daytime make-up so choose colours in more natural colours. Best are dark brown or pewter.
6. SHIMMER
Now take shimmering eye shadow and apply it precisely in the inner eye corner, by the tear duct and on the brow ridge, right under the brows.
7. TEMPER DARK COLOURS
Because it is a make-up meant to be worn during the day, the dark line will create strong contrast on your eyelids. Now you have to reach for more more neutral colour, best in shade of brown. It has to be lighter than the one used for line, but darker than the base colour. Apply this colour on the crease. Remember to apply it in a way to avoid expressive edges. It should provide your look with natural depth.
8. EYEBROWS FOR A PERFECT FINISH
Underline the brows like you usually do. They will ensure beautiful finish to the entire smoky eye make-up. If you would not take care of your brows the entire make-up would look unnatural and grotesque. Do not forget about eyelashes.
